He had passed up an earlier shot at a dark brown bear a few days before on a different part of the ranch, and we're all proud of him for it because this one was a much easier critter to retrieve than the other one would have been. :)

Fall bear tags can be purchased over-the-counter until deer season begins. However, the deadline date for applying for the draw for spring bear hunts is February 10th each year.
For Deer & Elk, remember that the controlled hunts application deadline is May 15th, so the LOP tag has to be arranged for well in advance of that date.

| The Kokanee & Rainbow fishing this year at Wallowa Lake was phenomenal, with the new state record Koke being set by our long time friend Jerry Logosz. We can arrange lake fishing trips through an associate outfitter. The stream fishing at the ranch was up to its usual standard of a-fish-every-cast. |

The 2010 Non-resident Outfitter Tags will be available for the deer & elk hunts by the first week of January. The opening weekend of chukar season for next year is already booked. All other dates are open as of this printing. (Oct. 13, '09)
For those visiting Wallowa County during the summer months, the lodge is available for rent with a 3 night minimum. Call well in advance for dates and availability. |
